Hunky Little Liars

Who else noticed that Pretty Little Liars is stacked with hot guys? Let me list them one by one:

This list wouldn’t be complete without Mr. Fitz! Ian Harding plays hot English teacher dating one of his students, Aria.

Officer Darren played by Bryce Johnson, yes, the one who walks around Hanna’s house with only a towel on.

Remember him? Julian Morris plays Wren Kim a.k.a one of the 2 boyfriends of Melissa that Spencer kissed. I think he also went shirtless in one scene.

Cute, nerd Lucas who has a thing for Hanna. Brendan Robinson in real life.

Dated Aria for a while but now suspect no. 2 for ‘A’. Brant Daugherty plays Noel in the series.

You see what I’m talking about? Another reason to watch Pretty Little Liars then.

I Like Number Four!

In fact, number four’s pretty hot. Leave it to Ellen to convince her guests to lose their shirt. Newcomer, Alex Pettyfer appeared on her talk show to promote his film I Am Number Four in which he plays the title role. And when she gave him an “I ♥ Ellen” t-shirt at the end, she jokingly said she wouldn’t hand it until he takes his shirt off and he did! Watch the interview below:

She’s currently dating co-star and Glee actress, Dianna Agron and although he didn’t admit to Ellen it was pretty obvious. He’s just so H – O – T !!!

And the nominees are not…

Aside from the news that James Franco and Anne Hathaway will be hosting the 2011 Academy Awards ceremony, the live nominations announcement has just taken place and I was not disappointed. I did notice though the number of Best Picture nominees were up this year and the snubs: Christopher Nolan for Best Director, Andrew Garfield for Best Supporting Actor, Mark Wahlberg and Ryan Gosling for Best Actor. In turn we get to see Mark Ruffalo and Javier Bardem get noms, so congrats to them.

Who exactly is The Last Olympian?

Fresh from finishing book 5 of the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series by Rick Riordan, I realized that I haven’t figured out why the book is entitled The Last Olympian. My guess is that it pertains to the Goddess of the Hearth, Hestia, because she dubbed herself that but what I don’t get is why it became the title of the book. I mean, it’s not the central plot of the story so I’m second guessing myself that I must’ve missed something important that explains why or that it’s actually referring to another character. Anyone who has an idea: help out a fellow camper! After all, Riordan did say all his readers deserve a place at Camp Half-Blood (hehe).

Don’t get me wrong, other than that I enjoyed everything. The invasion of the Titans and their army brought a lot of action. Even the whole joining forces of the Gods: major, minor and yes including Hades and his undead army was a great twist. Of course that extends to their sons and daughters; the demigods plus the satyrs, Hunters, Cyclopes, centaurs, even famous statues in Manhattan which turned out to be Daedelus’ creations. The unfolding of the prophecy was exciting so as the revealing of the spy and how they defeated Luke a.k.a. Kronos. The little triangle between Annabeth, Percy and Rachel was funny (sigh). It’s lame that I got sad after I finished reading. I’m like that with my books especially when it’s a series ‘cause you sort of spend more time with it and when you finally get to the last book suddenly there’s nothing next for you to anticipate. But who knows? Maybe there’ll be a continuation since the new Oracle just declared another great prophecy but I hope it still revolves around Percy and the gang, don’t you think so?

I Play Fashion Police For A Day

The news about the Golden Globe winners were abuzz the whole week but it wasn’t the only award the stars were after or rather avoiding. I’m talking about the best and worst dressed, entertainment shows all have their own but I’m exercising my fashion eye and here are my picks for best:

5. Halle Berry

My initial reaction is she looks amazing, that neckline is beautiful. People were commenting about the shortness of the skirt and the slit but I think its just the right amount of sexy.

4. Emma Stone

The color suits her so much and the simplicity makes her stand out from a crowd of overworked dresses.

3. Olivia Wilde

Oh my gosh I gasped when I saw this dress from Marchesa. Its big, bold, perfect for the red carpet and I love the statement shoes!

2. Anne Hathaway

In this dress by Armani Prive, she just shines. Its sleek and elegant, I love the puffy shoulders and its backless actually – love it.

1. Angelina Jolie

I know she’s beautiful as is but look at her, she’s so effortless and regal. This Versace dress sparkles during the live carpet show and its just amazing. Even the ‘boxy’ style works for her.

Moving on to the worst, in which I crossed off Helena Bonham Carter and Tilda Swinton technically because I think they always make this list anyway.

5. Julianne Hough

The dress is not so bad but that neckpiece is just too much especially for a petite girl like her. I feel like its swallowing her, the dress is wearing her not the other way around.

4. January Jones

Okay I love the color on her and her hair is beautiful but that top is just wrong. Its not too much skin but its a little off for my liking.

3. Scarlett Johansson

She looks like she aged 10 years! And she lost her figure, I don’t like the hair either. This dress is just way too old.

2. Michelle Williams

Okay this floral dress from Versace I totally don’t get. I know she’s sweet and all but this is a fashion miss.

1. Heidi Klum

What the hell happened to her? She’s a supermodel so there’s no excuse. Its a mess and a bit inappropriate for a formal event. Its actually painful to look at.

So that’s that. What do you think of my list?

Manila Welcomes International Acts

Huge international acts are set to conquer Manila which is rare so I envy those who’ll be able to catch it so hopefully I’ll be one of them.

It was really great news when it was announced that Ms. Janet Jackson will take her Number Ones: Up Close and Personal World Tour here in the Philippines on Feb. 4. Although, I’m not sure how great the venue is. It will be held on the PICC Plenary Hall which I can understand why, maybe its the ‘formal’ setting of the place. How many is the capacity of PICC anyways? But it will be a blast still, she’s going to perform her greatest hits! My favorites from way back like Miss You Much, If, What Have You Done For Me Lately, Control, Together Again and her later releases such as Feedback, All For You, Call On Me.

Taylor Swift’s concert here in Manila, on the other hand, has been announced since last year and has been sold out since as well. She’ll be performing at the Araneta Center on Feb. 19. I can’t believe how fast those tickets were selling. Those who were able to get tickets are lucky! It sucks that we don’t have a bigger stadium than Araneta, they would’ve accommodated more fans. And I don’t think it’s a good idea to transfer it to the MOA open grounds. She’ll probably be performing more of her Speak Now songs but it will be amazing if she sings her earlier hits.

Meanwhile, even LMFAO will be performing at Club Republiq on Jan. 20. Yes, the crazy duo who came up with the party hits namely Shots and I’m In Miami, Bitch! But I think Pinoy fans will be even more excited of the news that Kris Aquino herself confirmed on Twitter. As one of the producers, they will bring Bruno Mars here in Manila on April at Araneta! Now that’s amazing news, we’ll be waiting.

F**k You!

I see you driving ’round town
With the girl i love and i’m like,
Fuck you!
Oo, oo, ooo
I guess the change in my pocket
Wasn’t enough i’m like,
Fuck you!
And fuck her too!
I said, if i was richer, i’d still be with ya
Ha, now ain’t that some shit? (ain’t that some shit?)
And although there’s pain in my chest
I still wish you the best with a…
Fuck you!
Oo, oo, ooo

I can’t stop singing this song! The uncensored version is really awesome-r! Fuck You or Forget You, is the 1st single of Cee-Lo Green as a solo artist for his album The Lady Killer. If you remember, he’s also the lead singer on the band Gnarls Barkley and had a hit called Crazy. His next single is It’s OK so check that one also. Now sing with me! …

Bring In The Waterworks

With eyes sore and nose running I finished another Nicholas Sparks’ novel, The Last Song. It’s getting to be a habit, I know. This, after I’ve read The Notebook 2 weeks ago, is the 4th one I’ve read from his works. No reason behind, they just happened to be sitting quietly on the bookshelf that I barely noticed before. I’d like to think I’m a hopeless romantic without the hopeless. From another point of view, these stories seem more like a tragedy. But more than anything, they draw emotions or as they say, tug at the heart strings.

It took me a week or so to complete TLS, interrupted of course, while only a single afternoon for TN. While the movie portrayal of Rachel McAdams & Ryan Gosling helped me to envision, Miley Cyrus distracted me a little at first but soon enough she’s etched already in my mind as Ronnie. I’ve made a mental note to catch the film both because of Liam Hemsworth and that I’m curious how it turns out since the movie version of Dear John had a different ending.

It’s amazing to me that Sparks can narrate the story of a father’s love and romantic love and still speak to you the same way. Ya these books are often about heartbreaks but love and pain go hand and hand. These stories are mostly sad but after reading you feel warm and hopeful not empty. For both novels, the letters in the story get me every time. I’m just a crying mess. For TLS, I loved that it started with a prologue containing parts of the conclusion & although there was the Will & Ronnie storyline, I think its with her dad that the plot really shines. Tackling teen angst, first love and growing up, it caters more on the young readers. It resembles pieces of A Walk To Remember, so for fans of that you’ll admire this one. TN talks about that great love & how fate can play in the lives of people. Short but memorable, I understand the universal appeal of that love lost and found only to be tested once more. And that whatever age, love is not impossible. I’m beginning to sound so insightful not really from experience but from all the reading. I won’t be able to stand gobbling up another Sparks creation so I’ll go for a light book next. I’ll give my eyes a break!

I, Too, Was Born This Way

This may be old news but I just realized we’re gonna be expecting more new music this 2011. Since last year’s announcement on the VMAs, Lady Gaga has been since dropping news about her new album ‘Born This Way’. She tweeted: “THE SONG 2 13 11 THE RECORD 5 23 11” alongside the pic above. I don’t know if I consider myself one of her little monsters but I’m definitely a fan and I will grab that record when it hits the stores. I’m excited to listen on the new single as well, she’s unpredictable and I like the sentiment of that phrase: Born this way…

The People Have Spoken

The 37th PCAs last January 5th hosted by Queen Latifah was studded with A-listers from TV, music and movies, name it! And the winners were quite obvious after all its the ‘people’s choice’ so it is a popularity contest. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse dominated the movie categories, heck if it qualified for Favorite Comedy Movie I don’t think Grown Ups stands a chance but still Easy A should’ve gotten it or Date Night. This is the only awards show where Kristen Stewart can beat Julia Roberts, Angelina Jolie & Jennifer Aniston. Zac Efron was named Favorite Movie Star Under 25 awkwardly beating ex Vanessa, that’s easy he’s my favorite anything!

On TV, Conan O’Brien’s karma is really turning up beating Oprah, Ellen on Favorite Talk Show Host. Sucks that Pretty Little Liars lost to Dexter for Favorite TV Obsession. I’m curious about the Favorite New TV Comedy $#*! My Dad Says since the book was funny. The Kardashian sisters accepted the Favorite TV Guilty Pleasure award, thankfully it didn’t go to Jersey Shore. And Rachael Ray won the Favorite TV Chef trophy, love her.

Love The Way You Lie proves to be 2010’s biggest single since it won Favorite Song & Music Video. Surprisingly, the night’s performer Selena Gomez & her band The Scene snatched Favorite Breakout Artist from yacht date Justin Bieber as well as Ke$ha, Bruno Mars and B.o.B.

Oh well, let’s just wait for the critics’ choice via the Oscars/Golden Globes/Grammys.

New Britney!

Britney kicks off 2011 with a new album. I have to admit this girl is not one to take a break. Above is the artwork for her soon to be released single ‘Hold It Against Me’. I haven’t heard it yet, I refuse to listen to that unofficial demo leaked on the net. Will this album be a different Britney? Or the tried and tested pop formula she usually comes up with? We’ll see.

Adam does a ‘Janet’

I’ve always been a fan of Maroon 5 and frontman Adam Levine had always struck me as hot especially now with his tats and cool ‘do. Well you can’t really miss it, he usually makes out with the girls in his videos. So I can’t just ignore these photos that surfaced from the Feb 2011 issue of Cosmo UK.

This is different though because its an ad to promote awareness on prostate and testicular cancer, so its for a good cause. These photos are reminiscent of that Janet Jackson Rolling Stone cover ages ago.
